UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship Winner: Isabel Andariza, UFCW 175

Toronto – December 5, 2015 – Isabel Andariza is one of eighteen UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship winners for 2015.

Currently in her second year of the Master of Social Work program at the University of Windsor, Isabel is a proud UFCW Canada Local 175 member who works at the Parkdale Community Health Centre in Toronto.

Sister Andariza had the following to say about winning a UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship:

"I was thrilled when I received a letter from my union informing me that I had won a scholarship. As a working professional who is studying while also holding down a full-time job, it is nice to receive some recognition. As well, this scholarship is a significant financial boost that will help me with the cost of completing my master's degree. With this award, I feel validated and motivated to continue working toward my educational goals!"

Every year UFCW Canada offers a total of eighteen union scholarships worth $1,000 each to members, their spouses, and dependants for post-secondary education.The BDM scholarship was created to honour past UFCW leaders William Beggs, Fred Dowling, and Romeo Mathieu.
