Tech Blend employees join the union — UFCW 1991P

Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que. – November 26, 2015 – UFCW Canada Local 1991P is proud to welcome workers at Tech Blend in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu as the newest members of the Local Union. Tech Blend produces industrial resins for the plastics industry.

The new unit was certified as a Local 1991P bargaining unit by the Commission des relations du travail (‘‘Quebec’s labour relations board’’) following an application made earlier this fall. The 30 new members from the Montérégie region now add their voice to more than 45,000 UFCW Canada members in Quebec and 250,000 across Canada.

‘‘We are very proud that new members have joined our union to give themselves a strong voice to advocate for their rights and bargain with their employer,” says UFCW Canada Local 1991P President Mario Maisonneuve. “We welcome the new members at Tech Blend and we are grateful they have put their trust in us to support and represent them in their workplace.”
