Members at IGA Martin in Saint-Jérôme achieve new union contract – UFCW 500

Saint-Jérôme, Que. – April 15, 2015 – UFCW Canada Local 500 members at the IGA Martin in Saint-Jérôme, Quebec have ratified a new collective agreement with a number of improvements to wages, benefits and working conditions.

The new agreement provides members at this grocery store with wage increases, additional sick leave days and, starting in the second year after the date as of which the contract came into effect, access to the Régime de soins dentaires des membres des TUAC du Québec (‘‘UFCW dental plan for members in Quebec’’).

‘‘We are very happy about the outcome that this new collective agreement is, and we would like to commend the excellent work done by members who were at the bargaining table. This new union contract will provide stability and better working conditions for the members,’’ says UFCW Canada Local 500 President Antonio Filato.
