Members at HyLife Foods achieve new deal - UFCW 832

Neepawa, Man. – March 27, 2015 – UFCW Local 832 members at HyLife Foods in Neepawa, Manitoba have overwhelmingly ratified a new five-year collective agreement.

In the new contract, rates will increase $1.90 to $2.65 per hour over the life of the agreement. Members will also see additional wage increases, as over $340,000 will be invested in job re-classification. Improvements were also made to all premiums and a new Saturday work premium of $1.50 per hour was introduced in the new contract.

In the new deal, members will be transitioning into a new pension plan that will increase their retirement benefit. Members will also not lose any pension benefit during the transition.

"This is a strong contract for all members at the plant," said UFCW Local 832 President Jeff Traeger. "Not only do our members benefit from the wage increases, they have better contract language on job postings, vacation entitlement and overtime requests."
