Members at Telepartners Call Centre achieve first contract – UFCW 206

Toronto – March 25, 2015 – UFCW Canada Local 206 members at Telepartners Call Centre in Toronto have achieved their first collective agreement after voting unanimously in favour of the contract earlier this month.

The Telepartners members work as customer service representatives at a full service call centre that provides bilingual telephone answering and telemarketing services throughout Canada.

As part of the new collective agreement, most members will see their wages increase by 15 to 30 percent in the first year of the contract. The Telepartners members will also enjoy increased shift premiums, a reduction in the cost of benefits, and increased paid vacation time. As well, the new agreement institutes a grievance procedure and provides seniority rights to members.

"This contract reflects the company's willingness to make positive changes in the lives of its employees, and is a testament to what can be achieved when both sides work together," says UFCW Canada Local 206 President Wayne Hanley.

"The bargaining committee did an excellent job in negotiating improvements to the working conditions of the Telepartners members, and I would like to congratulate them on a job well done," Brother Hanley adds.
