Workers at Les Aliments Lebel join the union – UFCW 501

Lachute, Que. – January 12, 2015 – Over eighty workers at Les Aliments Lebel in Lachute, Quebec are the newest members of UFCW Canada Local 501 after voting to join the union late last year.

The Les Aliments Lebel members manufacture ice cream, frozen yogurts, and other frozen foods at a production facility northwest of Montreal.

The new Local 501 members decided to join the union to obtain improved wages and recall conditions, and to have their rights and seniority respected at work.

"I would like to welcome the new members at Les Aliments Lebel," says UFCW Canada Local 501 President Alain Lachaîne. "We thank you for trusting us to represent you, and we will do everything necessary to ensure that your interests and needs are respected in the workplace," Brother Lachaîne adds.
