Fairness Works campaign builds momentum with new ads

Toronto – November 27, 2014 – The latest round of the Fairness Works campaign is rolling out with new ads that continue to focus on the positive impact unions have on the lives of all Canadians.

The first round of the Fairness Works campaign was launched last year — thanks to the leading efforts of UFCW Canada along with the combined endorsement of other CLC affiliates. The groundbreaking campaign was specifically designed to counter and defeat anti-worker politicians and governments in upcoming elections, including defeating the Harper government in 2015 and replacing it with a progressive government that believes in fairness.

Since its launch, surveys have confirmed that the campaign’s mix of TV, social media, and print ads have had a positive impact on the attitude of the general public toward unions and the labour movement. The newest phase of the campaign builds on that momentum, as UFCW Canada continues to work with labour and community allies to get the Fairness Works message out.

"The Fairness Works campaign has been well received across the country, creating a voice for millions of Canadians who want progressive change and fairness for everyday workers," said UFCW Canada National President Paul Meinema. “Workers are standing up to demand the fairness and respect that all workers deserve. As Canada's leading union we are proud to stand together with them in the fight to bring a fairer future for all Canadians.”
