My webCampus Experience: Keri Edwards, UFCW 175

Northumberland County, Ont.– August 11, 2014 – UFCW Canada members across the country are raving about the union's groundbreaking online education program, webCampus, which offers free online courses to all UFCW Canada members, their families, and community partners.

While many UFCW Canada members take webCampus courses out of personal interest, others see them as a way to develop their knowledge and professional skills.

Keri Edwards, for instance, is a UFCW Canada Local 175 member who truly believes in life-long learning. In the last two years, Keri has completed over 70 webCampus courses on a wide range of subjects. Her latest webCampus achievement is earning a Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety from Mohawk College, where she is currently completing a Certificate in Labour Studies.

Keri works at theNorthumberland County Material Recovery Facility, where she has been employed for four years. She is a certified member of the facility's Joint Health and Safety Committee, and a proud Local 175 union steward.

"My work as a steward and on the JHSC is what inspired me to take webCampus courses, and I will be pursuing more health and safety courses in September," Keri says. "I would like to thank UFCW Canada for offering such a great educational experience through webCampus," she adds.

Registration for webCampus' Fall 2014 courses opens August 15th. To register for webCampus, and to find out more about the program, visit the webCampus website
