UFCW CANADA PARTICIPATION IN TORONTO PRIDE WEEKEND

Toronto Pride Parade

UFCW Canada, along with Locals 1000A and Locals 175 & 633 will gather in Toronto to celebrate PRIDE on July 1, 2012.  The parade will begin at 2 p.m. and there will be a UFCW 175 & 633 contingent, along with a strong presence from UFCW Local 1000A taking part in this walk.  “Toronto Pride parade is the largest of its kind in Canada.  We are proud to stand in unity with our LGBTQ brothers and sisters and we encourage the participation of our vast membership at this exciting event”, says Wayne Hanley, National President.

MARCHERS

UFCW Canada marchers will meet at 2:45 p.m. at the staging location located on Bloor Street (at Ted Rogers Way, formerly called Jarvis Street).  All marchers will be checked in first before meeting up with the rest of the UFCW contingents at Church Street and Bloor street to start the parade together.

There will also be booths set up on Alexander Street (perpendicular to Church Street), on June 30th from 11 a.m. and on July 1st from 12 p.m. Check out our UFCW booths while waiting for the parade to start on Sunday or at any point in time throughout the weekend.

Note:  Please allow for sufficient travel time as the Pride parade garners the participation of thousands of people.
