Hudak Tories accused of distributing homophobic campaign flyers

Critics, activists, and the public have denounced the latest Hudak Tory election scheme to divide Ontario communities by distributing arguably homophobic campaign flyers around the Greater Toronto Area.

According to a report published by Globe and Mail, Brampton West candidate Ben Shenouda endorsed and handed out campaign flyers in his riding that many have called "homophobic."   The flyers employed malicious and often misinformed "one-liners," warning parents about a curriculum that would educate six-year-old children to cross dress, and about kissing booths that would be set up to help children learn about gender issues. Willowdale PC candidate Vince Agovino distributed similar flyers with an accompanying letter, referencing his Catholic faith and the future of parental rights in educating children about sexuality.

Ontario voters go to the polls on October 6.
