Employees of the H&M retail store at the Square One Shopping Centre in Mississauga have applied at the Labour Board to be represented by UFCW Canada. The application for certification is the result of a strong and enthusiastic card-signing campaign. Workers at the store have told UFCW Canada that they want to make their careers at H&M more secure and rewarding.

UFCW represents more than 1,400 H&M employees in New York City. The collective agreement in Manhattan includes significant wage improvements, wellness days for both part-time and full-time sales advisors, and robust language to ensure equality and dignity at work.

UFCW Canada anticipates that the Ontario Labour Relations Board will conduct a secret ballot vote at the Mississauga store on Thursday, October 6. We encourage our members and activists to support this determined group of workers in their movement to make H&M a better place to work.
