2010 BEGGS, DOWLING, MATHIEU UNION SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS
Congratulations to the 2010 recipients of the Beggs-Dowling-Mathieu Union Scholarship!
Every year UFCW Canada offers 18 annual scholarships of $1,000 each to members and their children for post secondary study. Allocated by regions across Canada these union scholarships are named as a lasting tribute to three past leaders of our union: William Beggs, Fred Dowling, and Roméo Mathieu.
The recipients of the 2010 Beggs-Dowling-Mathieu were announced on November 17, 2010.
“Congratulations to all the recipients,” says National President Hanley. “We share their commitment to education, and we are proud that since the inception of the BDM Scholarship program, hundreds of UFCW Canada members and their children have been able to advance their educational goals with the program’s support.”

Applications are now open for the September 30, 2011 round of BDM Scholarships. If you’re planning on attending a post-secondary institution fulltime in the 2011-2012 academic season and are a UFCW Canada member — or daughter, son or spouse of a member — then apply here online.
Deadline to apply is September 30, 2011.
